Hotels in Senegal

In keeping with its importance as a regional tourist destination Senegal is well served by a range of hotels and resorts scattered around the country, but principally along the coast and within the main beach towns.

Dakar in particular has a plethora of hospitality options ranging from filthy dives to five star brand name establishments and beach side resorts. At the top of the long list is probably the Novotel although the Le Meridien President and Sofitel Dakar Teranga are rated higher. Either way there is no shortage of choices, although prices are high, and climbing, even for the lower to mid range options situated back from the beach.

This is the case throughout the country, where listed hotels are available in all the major centres, as well beach resorts, auberges and guesthouses that are not widely listed. Once again, because of the popularity of Senegal with European, and particularly French visitors, standards are universally high, and even in the humbler establishments comfortable and clean rooms are usually available with good standards of service.
