Flights To Burundi

Few tourists currently venture into Burundi with the result that international tourist flights are almost non-existent. The nation has one international airport, Bujumbura International Airport situated just outside the capital and serves a miniscule average of 85 400 passengers annually.

National carrier Air Burundi offers scheduled flights to Kigali in Rwanda and Entebbe in Uganda but currently appears to be non-operational.

The only trans-continental connection is via Brussels on Brussels Airlines. A minimal selection of regional flights are offered by Air Tanzania to Dar es Salaam and Kigali, Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa and Kigali, Interlink from Johannesburg, Kenya Airways via Nairobi and Kigali and Rwandair Express from Johannesburg.

The only internal flight network is through the offices of the United Nations and other locally operating relief and diplomatic agencies.
