Flights To Botswana

There are two international airports in Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama International Airport serving the capital Gabarone, and Maun Airport serving the town of Maun, gateway to the Okavango Delta and the main tourist destinations.

For a country of some regional importance Botswana enjoys a very modest air traffic network, with no direct inter-continental flights serving the country, and very few regional. In keeping with its weighty local ballast South Africa offers the main route into Bostwana, with South African Express flights linking Gabarone with Cape Town and Johannesburg. Air Botswana offers scheduled services to Cape Town Harare and Windhoek.

Maun Airport receives regular Air Botswana flights from Gabarone, with an additional driect connection via Air Namibia from Windhoek.

A great deal of private and charter air traffic somewhat compensates for limited scheduled services, and all the main tourist destinations are well served in this regard. Individual tour operators at the high end usually offer private and exclusive air access to many of their more remote destinations.
