Hotels In Niger

As an independent traveler in Niger expect to spend a lot of time in poorly run, poorly provisioned and sparsely serviced accommodations.

At the low end this is particularly so, which tends to reinforce the general advice to travel in the country in the company of a tour operator. In many areas it is in fact illegal to do so. Camping is possible in most places, although there is enough foreign tourism to mean that camping randomly under the stars, except in the deep desert, will leave you subject to harassment or robbery.

Parc Regional du W offers camps and comfortable lodge accommodation.

At the mid range the options are reasonably wide, although prices vary, and can as much as double for a foreigner.

Both Niamey and Agadez offer high end accommodation options, with the Grand Hotel du Niger overlooking the Niger river among the best and most comfortable.
