One thing you can look forward to when you visit Botswana is some of the finest lodge, hotel and tented camp accommodation in the region. Across the country there is a plethora of options ranging from splendid luxury game lodges to rustic semi-permanent tented camps in the deep bush, as well a lodge and campsite compounds with built in restaurant and bar scenes, and usually a swimming pool to escape from the ubiquitous heat.
All the major towns have at least one hotel, while Gabarone, and the more important tourist destinations, have several. These range form private lodge style hotels on the outskirts of town to large, regional brand name facilities.
Most of the bush lodge and tented camp options are ranged beyond the access of regular road transport and require a fly in service that is usually associated with a tour package. Some of these are extremely crude and low impact while others are sprawling, permanent structures accommodating large groups.
