There are a few hostels and backpackers lodges scattered around the country, mainly in the two towns, but for the most part budget accommodation in Swaziland is confined to cheap hotels and camping.
As a rule it is safe to camp just about anywhere in the rural areas, although out of courtesy and added security it is worthwhile making a point of asking permission from whoever happens to be around. As another rule try not to asked anyone under thirty since it is unlikely that they hold any authority, and moreover you might be inviting unwanted interest.
