Banjul International Airport is the only airport in the country and handles both international and domestic flights. Strangely the airport is on the list of alternative landing sites for the Space Shuttle in the even of it being diverted or unable to land at its conventional facilities.
The main international connection is via Nigeria. Regular flights are offered between Lagos and Banjul by Nigerian airline Bellview. Twice daily flights are also offered from Dakar on Air Senegal and Slok Air.
During peak season several European airlines offer scheduled flights between Manchester Amsterdam and Brussels. Besides this the only regular scheduled flights available from Europe are from Madrid via Spanair and Brussels via Brussels Airlines.
There is very limited scope for internal air travel.
