Namibia has on main international airport that serves that national capital of Windhoek. Hosea Kutako International Airport is situated 45km outside the capital and is served by a sophisticated local transport network.
There are a limited number of direct inter-continental flights available from Europe, with the most commonly used international connection being via Johannesburg.
Air Namibia operates flights into Windhoek from both London/Gatwick and Frankfurt, with more local connections to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Maun in Botswana and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Air Berlin operates regular flights into Namibia from Munich and Düsseldorf. TAAF Angolan Airlines flies direct from Luanda while South African Airways connects Windhoek with both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Namibia is a huge country so a wide network of smaller domestic and local airports and airstrips are complimented by comprehensive scheduled domestic flight coverage. Eros Airport, the main domestic terminal for Namibia, is one of the busiest airports in the SADC (Southern African Development Community) region.
